Save environment : Go green

Save environment : Go green

The natural resources that are available on our earth get depleted every year. Most of the lands are overflowing with garbage, which result in pungent smell and affects the environment negatively. These garbage results in obnoxious gases like those of carbon monoxide, methane and so on. In addition, the various power plants and factories around the world too emit poisonous gases, which adversely affect our earth. The emission from the auto-mobiles and other technologically advanced items too are adversely affecting the environment. The CFC from the refrigerators is resulting in the depletion of the ozone layer. That again is having a huge negative effect on us.

Going green and our earth

Other than the gases and materials which have been discussed about in the introduction, there are several other things that have adverse effect on our environment. So, how can you on your part work on improving the environment by going green? Some of the things or steps that can help are:

  • Replace usage of the cleaning products available in the stores, with some natural substitutes. The cleaning products available in the stores contain different hazardous chemicals, like those of phosphates. This results in polluting the waters and thus, is also hazardous for our health. You can create natural and non-toxic cleaning products by usage of vinegar, lemon and things like that of baking soda.
  • Compose grasses, leaves, and other such debris. In this, add some other kitchen discards like those of the banana peels, peels of other vegetables, and so on. These if stored becomes a composite pile, and can later be used as the fertiliser for your kitchen garden. The fertilizers available in the stores and markets can result in various health issues.
  • Lower the usage of electronic items. Rather, insulate your home in such a way so that you can keep yourself warm during the winter. As for the summer, try to include more windows which may help in passage of more fresh air and light. This won’t only help in saving electricity but your money too.
  • If you have a baby, use the cloth based diaper instead of the disposable ones. The disposable ones result in landfills, and are mainly plastic based. These have adverse effect on our environment.

So, these are some of the things or steps you can follow in order to turn your environment green, and thus save it from depleting day by day.
